ICBC Active Rehabilitation

We bill directly to ICBC, so you don’t have to!

If you’ve been in a car accident in British Columbia, active rehab with a registered ICBC kinesiologist is one of the most effective treatment options available to support your recovery. ICBC recognizes kinesiology and active rehab as an integral part of recovering from a motor vehicle accident, helping clients rebuild strength, mobility, and confidence after a collision.

At West Coast Kinetics, our ICBC kinesiologists work directly with you to create a personalized active rehab plan, and we handle billing directly with ICBC so the process is as straightforward as possible.

Note: ICBC policies around pre-approved sessions and referral requirements can change. Please confirm current eligibility details directly with ICBC or your kinesiologist before booking.

What to Expect From ICBC Active Rehab

Your first session is an initial assessment, where your kinesiologist reviews your accident details, current symptoms, and any restrictions noted by your doctor. From there, your kinesiologist builds a personalized active rehab program designed to safely rebuild strength, restore range of motion, and get you back to your normal activities.

Sessions are one-on-one and take place in our private studio in Point Grey. As your ICBC kinesiologist, we track your progress throughout your recovery and adjust your program as you improve, working toward both your immediate recovery goals and your longer-term physical health.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ICBC active rehab?
ICBC active rehab is a treatment option available to ICBC claimants recovering from a car accident in British Columbia. It involves working with a registered kinesiologist on a personalized program of guided exercise and movement to support recovery and rebuild strength and mobility.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to start active rehab?
Requirements can vary depending on your specific claim, so we recommend confirming current referral requirements with ICBC directly. Our team can help guide you through the process when you reach out.

How much does ICBC active rehab cost?
We bill directly to ICBC, so in many cases there is little to no out-of-pocket cost to you. Any difference owing depends on your specific session length and claim details.

How soon after my accident can I start active rehab?
Many clients are able to begin active rehab relatively soon after their accident, though specific timelines depend on your claim and ICBC’s current policies. Reach out to our team, and we can help you understand your options.

What is the difference between an ICBC kinesiologist and a physiotherapist?
Both play a role in accident recovery. Physiotherapists typically focus on initial diagnosis and treatment of acute injury, while kinesiologists focus on active rehabilitation, helping you rebuild strength, mobility, and function as you progress through recovery.
